RAT TERRIER RESCUE IS IN URGENT NEED OF foster homes. We are currently receiving a large number of pleas to help rat terriers in need, but we can only help when foster homes are available. Without foster homes, we cannot rescue these dogs and they will be euthanized when space and time become an issue in the shelters. The more foster homes we have, the more rat terriers will have the time to find their ?forever? family.
Rat Terriers (also known as Feists) are still fairly rare in Canada and many of our Rat Terriers are originally from the US. These dogs are usually young, extremely loving, well mannered and healthy. We also rescue Rat Terriers from puppy mill busts and take in owner surrenders whose families can no longer care for them.
All Rat Terriers coming into rescue are spay/neutered, vaccinated and tested for heartworm.
RTRC pays for all approved medical expenses and provides heartworm preventative as well as a microchip and I.D. tag. We also provide support, information and share stories of our foster experiences.
The foster family provides a temporary home where the foster dog is treated as a part of your family, food, toys, and of course lots of love and cuddles! Safe places to sleep, eat, rest and play are essential.
Please submit an application (found on our website at http://www.ratterrierrescue.ca ) to become a volunteer or email us at rtrc@ratterrierrescue.ca for more information.
